this is me, being ridiculous.

I decided today to try and look like Anna Wintour, since now I have the haircut and such. I'm not a tenth as ADORABLE/AMAZING/GORGEOUS as our Lady Anna, Queen of Vogue and I probably got the outfit all wrong (who cares, it was early) but I did a) curl my hair under a la Anna and b) wear a necklace that I am fairly certain Anna would like. So judge me. At least this'll be good for laughs. (Also WHUT I'm making an outfit post THE DAY I WORE AN OUTFIT?! Insanity.)

I wish I had kitten heels or something, but alas.

Also, I'm doing this art competition through the school and I have to collage something "personal." To me, nothing gets more personal than my purse. So I removed some embarrassing things and spilled my purse out on my bed to shoot the guide photo. I took a photo of the outside of my bag today on the seventies carpet. So I'll add that in, too.

I got this purse in July at Target for like $22 and it's lasted ever since. I switch out between this and my smaller Coach saddle bag because sometimes I just need to carry the contents of my room around with me, and that won't fit in the Coach. You might recognize the scarf I thrifted Saturday, and I embellished it with an old brooch of my grandmother's.

The contents of my bag. This actually kind of sums up my life right now? From l-r, you have my new 80 GB iPod Classic (aka external organ #1), wallet, Anna-esque sunglasses (almost typed sunnies. I talk to too many Aussies), my current cell phone (a Razr since my old one broke), random fake pearls that I wore to prom and wear ALL THE TIME now practically, an Anna Wintour biography, the January issue of Vogue, "Seamless" from Netflix, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume, a sharpie, a USB drive (not even mine, lolz. Mine was too big to fit in the photo so I borrowed my grandma's), and Chanel lipgloss that is practically empty.

And to end this post, two epic photos of Grace Coddington, aka my mother on Facebook.

She has got to be like, the greatest old lady ever. Strike that, GREATEST CRAZY OLD CAT LADY EVER. I want her to be my surrogate grandmother (if that term even makes sense) and pick out my clothes for school and make me pick up her cats from the vet. /non-creepy. Totally. Non. Creepy. Also if Grace was the grandma, I'd probably meet Anna no problem. Which would be an A+ thing for me.

Let's arrange for me to look like this. Somebody, get on it. I love this photo of young!Grace because it's so dramatic. The composition is gorgeous, that single curl of hair, and the way she's staring deep into your SOUL. Stunning.

On that note. xx

It instructed me to do so?

successful garage sale-in'.

Last weekend, I went garage sale shopping. I didn't expect much out of the people around these parts, but there were a few pleasant surprises. I have a few pieces that I'm undecided about, but will probably wear anyway. I welcome (okay, beg) your opinion on my purchases. Enjoy and such.

Alright we'll start with what I wore, which again, makes me look huge. It was just a baggy dress.

Also I look rather gross, but let's ignore that. I'd been out all day, mmkay? Cut me slack.

The first stop wasn't planned and was actually really small, but I found a gray cardigan and some lime-ish moccasin things. I'm completely torn on whether to wear the moccasin-things or not, because they're so damn comfortable. We'll see.

At stop numero dos, a little (and when I say 'little,' I do mean LITTLE, like Size 2-3 shoes little) old lady had passed and left her clothing collection for the taking. Everything was super cheap and some of the shoes were AMAZING but sadly too small. Since I have a foot larger than, y'know, the average third grader. I snagged a green Mossimo purse from God only knows when, a FABULOUS wool coat (for 50 cents. Whut. I love my life sometimes.), and some suede shorts (yes I know).

I love the feminine pleats on the back of the jacket so much. <3

The bag is nothing special, but it was a quarter so whatever.
I didn't take a picture in the suede shorts because a) they're either brilliant or TERRIBLY, TERRIBLY WRONG and b) they don't exactly.. fit. YET.

The third and final attempt at shopping for the day was an estate sale. Unfortunately for me, the owner was like, a size 10, and I am not. But a few things there must have been someone else's and I picked them up. A purple jacket with sheer sleeves, a black-and-white spotted silk scarf (which is now tied to my purse), and a red belt.

Said red belt, me looking huge.

Scarf, currently tied on my purse.

I also bought some things last week, but I'm fallin' asleep at the keyboard so I'll post those another day. xx

Drive by post.

I have two other posts in the works, but I keep getting distracted by things. However, I am doing this outfit post if it kills me. Basically, my Mom bought me this dress, so I wore it. It's not really inspired by anything, but it makes me look thin, so I'll take it. Here we are.

Pinecone. On my head.

Mysteriously larger photo? IN A TREE.

And on a fence.

That's about all I have to say. I'm doing a Mulan post soon? Should be fun.

wintour weather alert.

You read right, I just went there with my title. How d'ya like me now, 5 subscribers? I felt like it was appropriate, since Texas had some intense "winter" weather last week, and I couldn't exactly dress well (without freezing what little ass I have off).

I braved the cold and wore this little number just the other day.

I know I look like.. a size 1 Million, but I swear it's a 3.
Also my webcam sucksucksucksssss.

There's actually not much to alert on, but I wanted to share some things that make me happy with you, because it seems like all I've done lately (not necessarily here, since I have what? Two posts?) but just in general. So here you have it, ladies and geraniums.

First up we have this belt, which I bought for 1cent. I kid you not.
..Okay, so it was at Wet Seal and they were having a buy-one-get-one-for-a-penny-sale but THAT IS NOT THE POINT. The point is: I GOT THIS FOR A PENNY. I also got matching four inch heels that I figured out I can't walk in due to a late onset realization that I have flat feet. Woe is me. And to think, this was a happy post. lmao. Nice job, self.

Next up we have the most used item in my school backpack. Is it a textbook or calculator or something?
Nope. It's my Vogue Collections Book. Basically I walked into our poor excuse for a Barnes & Noble and gravitated towards the magazine section. Lo and behold, HARK, this beautiful, beautiful thing called to me from behind a copy of Cosmopolitan. Actually, this was the same day I bought my Teen Vogue Handbook. Because, yeah, I bought one. WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT?!

Let's ignore how scratched/smudgy/whatever my iPod screen is and focus on the display.
Yeah, THAT'S RIGHT. I have The September Issue on my iPod for repeat viewing. I will not in a million years ever admit the playcount on that movie. It's just one of those things you have to keep to yourself in order to maintain your credibility. But for those guessing, it's in the double digits. :P I watch it nearly every day in history class, because our teacher is legit oblivious.

Moving on, I will readily and openly admit my perfume addiction. There is no logical reason why I need as much perfume as I have, especially since I tend to lose it. These are the three top perfumes, and for that reason, they do not leave my house. Not that I don't think they'd get easily lost here, come to think of it...

Left to right: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, Marc Jacobs Daisy, and Chanel Chance. I tend to wear Daisy everyday, Flowerbomb for special occasions, and Chance went I want to feel ~~SOPHISTICATED~~.

To be perfectly honest with you, dear reader, this bag is like my child. It's my Coach saddlebag, and just carrying it makes me feel happier and more confidence. /*~SUPER-FISH-ULL~*/.

It's kiiind of an old lady bag. At least, that's what all my friends say when they make fun of me for carrying it. MATTERS NOT. I love you, bag, and you will stay with me always.

So there you are. Some of the things that make me happy, taken with a shitty webcam camera. It's whatever, I guess. Working on getting a new digital (and maybe a camera stand huhwhaaaa!?). All shots were taken on my bed, in case you weren't informed of that by the wrinkled sheet motif. Okay? Okay.

My favorite crazy cat lady.

Hey, remember that time Grace Coddington went on the Martha Stewart show to talk about her cats and wore that ridiculous cat necklace and they promoted a book she wrote way long ago? Well, that happened yesterday. And it is a source of much entertainment for me.

They displayed photos of Grace and her cats...

And a close-up on her rather creepy necklace.

Blog attempt #4.

Foregoing the usual formalities (Alright, basics at the end) here's my pathetic introduction post. I've attempted many, many a blog, but this time it's do or die. I'll fill it with my rather unusual, off-kilter, pretentious musings. I'm incredibly garrulous, and I'll often ramble. I'm deranged, disillusioned, and downright boring, some would say. I suppose only time will tell. My interests are swift and ever changing, but as you continue to examine my subconscious, you notice a few constants. I love theatre with a berserk abandon akin to that of a cult member. I've read Vogue from the age of 6, but only recently decided to start ~really paying attention to the goings on of the fashion world. I would rather be living in a George Cukor film. I worship at the church of Anna Wintour, but am forced to be the marimbist for the local Baptist church.

Pardon any stupidity from this corner.
